The 5th Annual Citrus Walk Aware for Alzheimer’s is back, and is more enjoyable, versatile, and educational than ever! With guidance from the Floral City Heritage Council, a choice of four different Walks will be offered.
WALK THE HISTORIC ENVIROMENT OF FLORAL CITY– Meander the sidewalk of scenic Floral City to view the many historic homes that line Orange Avenue, to Marvin Street to view the historic Methodist Church, this loop will only be about 1 mile.
WALK THE WITHLACOOCHEE TRAIL– This WALK will take you about 1 to 1 1/2 miles down the beautiful bike trail with the canopy of many different types of foliage and animals.
ACTIVITIES-FLORAL CITY TOWNCENTER:
There will be live music throughout the event to enjoy.
When you have completed the walks come back and visit the Floral City Historic museum and giftshop, visit the Floral City Library to see the Dementia Education Famous Americans Photo Exhibit of people that have succumbed to dementia, take a tour of the Historic Duval-Metz residental home, visit the Lions Club for a drink, you may even see a demonstration or two and even some antique/vintage cars may appear during the event, and please do not forget to take home a BBQ dinner prepared by Floral City Mt. Carmel Church.
